On the sound side of the village of Duck, there's a little kitsch and a little nature - it's a great walk in the early morning or at sunset. There's access for kayakers and paddle boarders; there's a place for crabbing; lots of shops and places to eat. But the best part is when you see an egret catching his breakfast, or a fawn hiding in the reeds, or any of the wildlife that is teeming just below you! It's a whole different world from the beach on the other side of the village.
Was here in July. Absolutely beautiful, even at night. Went out while a lightning storm was up over Knotts Island, looked amazing. Highly recommend stopping by.
It's nice to look at and the views are beautiful, not much else to do besides thay and eat. I'd rather be at the beach or find a local restaurant that isn't as expensive as some of these other places located on the walk.
28 September 2017 - Have been here several times and always enjoy it. Every town on the OBX needs something like this. Great planning by the town, well done!
Love the atmosphere. Best if you go after season ( I was there in October). Still warm and no traffic.
